This policy explains what information is processed when you use mapof.net.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and receives information like the pages you view, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and device type and the referring page. We do not use this information to identify you and we do not use advertising features. You can block it with a content blocker, your browser's privacy settings, or Google's opt-out browser add-on. Maps and other third-party resources

• OpenStreetMap tiles: when a map is displayed, your browser loads map images from tile.openstreetmap.org, which receives your IP address and browser details. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
• unpkg.com: the Leaflet map library is loaded from this public CDN, which receives standard request data.

Search

The city search runs in your browser: it downloads a small data file of place names and filters it locally. What you type is not sent to us, although the page address may include the search term (for example /?q=lisbon) and is then recorded by Google Analytics like any other page view.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

No accounts, no advertising

There are no user accounts, forms or newsletters, and the site does not show advertising.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. As we do not hold data that identifies you, requests about analytics data are best handled through the opt-out options above; you can also contact us at hello@mapof.net.

We will update this page if the way the site processes data changes.
